• I’m a bit of a weird, deep-in-the weeds kind of person. As an example: I’m into coffee- and that’s gone from making a cup a day at home to roasting my own beans! I am similarly inclined to jump into rabbit-holes wherever I can find them in my work, and am constantly pinching myself that I have been able to make a profession out of it.

I am drawn to experiences and our different ways of navigating them.

A camera has been, for me, an incredible tool to navigate and make sense of the world, and I am happiest behind the lens.

  • I’ve always been a bit of a nerd.

I started with a BA (Photography) with distinction at RMIT. I followed that up with a BMedia&Comm (Hons) at RMIT receiving first class honours. Then, I completed a PhD in Philosophy at Monash University looking at how we make sense and narrativise interactive media. It might sound a little random today, but I wanted to prepare myself for a new way of sharing stories that is only just emerging in earnest now.

If you want to read my PhD, you can find it here. And yes, that means you can call me doctor!

  • While I’m not that old, I’ve had a broad range of experience. My journey started in photography, and I spent several years working mainly as a photo assistant across a diverse group of photographers and disciplines. I gradually drifted more towards motion. I found the technical problem-solving more stimulating, and I really don’t think anything can beat the feeling of seeing a scene come to life in front of you.

I’ve been a voracious learner in many different areas of motion— plenty of rabbit-holes to go down, and I’m working my way through them all! I have a wide breadth of experience in several different areas (such as 1st AC, DIT, VTR), so I can talk to and understand almost anybody on set. I love the technical nitty gritty, and the more prickly the problem to solve, the better. The pressure that some sets can bring is second nature to me, and I’m very proud of my ability to think on my feet.

  • If you’re reading this with a problem to solve, please get in touch. That’s my element. I have a large (and growing) mental toolkit of technical knowledge that I’m able to apply to help you achieve whatever it is that you’re setting out to do. I’m a good translator, and put a lot of effort into making things seem effortless.
